This was a really great and insightful story its like stories of good and evil come to life. But the part near the end where you discussed religion, I would agrue that many religions cleary set a bedrock of values, ethics, and moral codes/beliefs. And your adherence to those ethics set by your religion is based on your level of faithfulness and belief in that religion. For example, i am a Christian and i hold a firm believe that God sent Jesus to die on the cross to forgive us of our sins. My strong genuine faith in that belief leads to me want to follow the moral guidelines set forth by God in the Holy Bible to the absolute best of my capabilities. And since i’m not perfect and no one is, i may fail to meet these expectations 100% of the time. And although thats the case, i will still try my hardest to fulfill these expectations because i have an obligation to abide by God as well as being given an understanding of whats right and whats wrong and it makes me genuinely feel bad inside to do whats wrong. In Christianity it’s believed that even when you do slip up and act out of accordance to devine moral law, you will still be forgiven of your wrong doing by your faith in Jesus’s sacrifice for you. I do relate to what you said about the example of picking up trash. However, if the unfortunate situation come up to where i was isolated or left alone in an evil unforgiving environment, i would have to choose to adhere to my moral guidelines no matter what the condition is just based of my level of belief and commitment to my religious faith. Thank you for reading this if you chose to do so and i would like to hear you thoughts on this as well.

Great read - and love the callback to Heart of Darkness. This also reminds me of that saying "who are you when no one is watching". Important stuff.
